DeSexing

Sex - It can be difficult to talk about!
But don't hesitate to discuss neutering with Marshall and Pringle.

Why Neuter (spay) your pet?

Neutering provides many health benefits and can lessen pet health risks, for instance:

  • Stop roaming
  • Have a reduced risk of cancer and disease
  • Fight less
  • Incur fewer costs
  • Reduce urine marking
  • Be a more socially acceptable pet
  • Avoid having an unplanned litter
  • Cost less to feed

There are not enough homes available for unwanted puppies and kittens every year, consequently many are destroyed - if you neuter or spay your pet you will prevent adding to these unnecessary deaths.

What does neutering involve?

Neutering a female animal – also called spaying – involves removal of the ovaries and uterus. This prevents the animal from coming 'on heat' again.

Neutering a male animal – also called castration – involves removal of the testicles.
